Independent product

RoomFact: one practical answer before an expensive furniture purchase.

Allen developed the product position, brand system, content model, calculation tools, room planner, quality controls, and production website around a focused question: will the furniture fit the room and the route?

01 / Product brief

Check the whole fit, not just one doorway or a decorative floor plan.

RoomFact was deliberately positioned between complex room-design platforms and narrow furniture-fit calculators. The useful territory was the decision immediately before checkout: one item checked against placement, walking clearance, the tightest opening, and delivery-route risk.

The product needed to work with any retailer, require no account, give plain-language results, show assumptions, and avoid turning a quick purchase check into a long design project.

Product direction

A furniture-fit field journal.

  • Independent, retailer-neutral measurement guidance
  • One connected report instead of disconnected calculators
  • Concrete language about walls, walkways, openings, turns, and clearance
  • Visible limitations and assumptions beside each result
  • Editorial usefulness without generic software marketing

Allen created

A complete product system.

  • RoomFact name, positioning, voice, visual identity, and content system
  • Fit Report, formula tools, checklist, and local-first room planner
  • Guides, methodology pages, downloadable resources, and trust policies
  • Responsive interface, static production architecture, and launch workflow
  • Testing, accessibility, privacy, security, SEO, backup, and rollback controls

03 / Brand decisions

Measured, editorial, and specific to the problem.

The visual system avoids the blue-purple gradients, glass cards, generic dashboards, and decorative room renders common to generated software sites. Newsreader carries the publication voice; Funnel Sans handles tools, labels, forms, and articles.

Paper and ink create the reading field, vermilion marks decisive actions, route blue identifies measurements or guidance, and deep green closes the experience. Firm borders, indexed tools, numbered checks, and measured registers make the interface feel like a working field reference.

Privacy and resilience

Useful without collecting the room.

Local by default
Measurements, budgets, plans, and checklist state stay in the browser and are excluded from analytics.
Reduced attack surface
The core product is static and requires no account system, database, file upload, session layer, or permanent custom server.
Fail-closed integrations
Advertising and optional analytics remain off unless their configuration, consent, privacy, and release conditions are intentionally satisfied.

04 / Quality gate

A product launch with repeatable checks.

The build process checks formulas, planner logic, route output, accessibility, browser journeys, content, links, disabled monetization, production readiness, backups, rollback, and Lighthouse performance before deployment.

Security headers include a Content Security Policy, HSTS, MIME-sniffing protection, referrer controls, and restricted permissions. Contact handling includes validation, a honeypot, minimum completion time, and private host notifications.

Evidence boundary: RoomFact is Allen's own live product, not commissioned client work and not a customer testimonial. It is included as proof of product strategy, design, engineering, content, testing, and launch capability.
